Job Description:

• This position manages media and public relations in RSSA in alignment with Group Function Communications strategy.
• The position is required to drive perception building brand communication. Initiate, drive, execute and secure consistent, proactive communication through integrated communication activities and plans. Manage change and crisis communications.
• Initiate, facilitate, manage and maintain relations with external parties such as e.g. press and media, analysts, opinion formers, general public, investors and other external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Secure accurate positioning of Ericsson and ensure consistent communication.
• Drive communication initiatives, create and implement communications plans.
• Develop and manage change and crisis communications.
• Initiate, facilitate, manage and maintain relations with external parties such as press, investors and other external stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key media, trade press and broadcasters
• Pro-actively use PR as means to build position and perception in wanted areas/categories in the region
• Management of PR agencies
• Appoint and coach spokespersons in the region
• Responsible for advertorial and other external on-line activities

Qualifications

• A university degree is essential and a further degree or a specialisation in Communications is a plus.
• Excellent media contacts across Africa gleaned from more than 5 years work experience preferably with multi-national companies.
